Guitars Introduces The Lizard: A Unique, Custom-Hand-Crafted,
Solid Body Electric Guitar
Reviews
The guitar I recently bought from Scott Gordon
is as fine a guitar as I've ever seen or touched.
Everything the guitar needs is on there.
Mine has a dense ebony fingerboard, a bookmatched
walnut top, the Buzz Feiten tuning system, and
tasty Joe Barden pickups (which may now be unavailable,
ask Scott). The controls are simple, and work perfectly.
The wood craftsmanship is excellent.
It's equally important to me that there's nothing
on the guitar that doesn't need to be there. There's
no visual, or mechanical, clutter. That's exactly
what I wanted. I'm sure that if I wanted a complicated,
decorated guitar, Scott could build that, too.
Mine wasn't a custom job. It's a guitar that Scott
made for himself. I have unusually large hands,
so I was looking for a fat/wide neck guitar. It
turns out Scott has big hands himself. So this
guitar works for me.
Maybe I should mention that I started playing guitar
for a living when I was 12, and I continued into
my early 30s. I sold guitars in a music store for
a few years. I've had quite a few fine guitars
in my hands. For instance, I own a 1975 Alembic
Series 1 guitar. It's hand-made, and a dang fine
guitar. These things go for about $4K+ on eBay.
I strongly prefer my ScoGo guitar.
Believe me when I tell you, if I buy another electric
guitar, I'll call Scott first. If he's still making
guitars, that'll be my only call.

(Note from Scott Gordon - Walter has recently placed
an order for another guitar, a custom job this
time. THANK YOU!!!)
Testimonial
of Joel Perry Musician and Teacher
I am
truly delighted with my ScoGo guitar. I am now using it on
every live gig and recording that calls for an electric guitar.
It has taken the place of all my electric guitars, including
my Stratocaster, my Gibson 345 and even my L-5. I use it with
confidence in every situation, from blues, to rock and jazz,
and I am even comfortable playing classical guitar on it.
The tone is extremely clear and very modern sounding. It projects
very well in all kinds of acoustics. The tone controls offer
a wide variety of settings, so that I can tweak the sound
to be a mellow jazz tone or a screaming blues sound and everything
in between. Scott made the neck of the guitar exactly as I
requested, and consequently I can play with my right hand
fingers and not feel cramped. In addition my left hand is
very comfortable with it. The design of the guitar is extremely
user friendly. It is perfectly balanced and a true pleasure
to play.
The craftsmanship is beautiful. The woods used are of the
highest quality. I never get tired of looking at it. I am
constantly getting all sorts of compliments on how beautiful
the guitar looks---in addition to how great it sounds.
After playing a
six-hour club date, I still want to play my ScoGo after I
get home. This is really unusual. Normally, after a full day
of teaching and performing I dont want to play the same
guitar at home that I was working with the whole day. But
with the ScoGo, I find that I still want to take it out to
play when I get home. It is a real pleasure because it is
so comfortable to play and the sound is a true representation
of the wood.
